Kayla & Jordan | Ken Caryl Vista by Wedgewood | Littleton, Colorado

November 3, 2022

Jordan and Kayla first met while Kayla was in the police academy. Kayla did a ride along with the agency she was training to be an officer for and the person she rode along with was Jordan! Love at first sight? Actually, nearly two years went by until they ran into each other again at the gym one day. After seeing each other at the gym, they went on their first date a couple weeks after and have been inseparable ever since. Even from the early stages of their relationship they both knew it was something different and special. They understood each other on a profound level. The kind of love where you don’t have to hide your insecurities or parts of yourself. The kind of fully accepting love that is hard to find. Jordan and Kayla faced hardships including illness, career changes, military service, surgery, and death in the family. Through it all, they had each other to lean on and support. Through all this, they knew they were each other’s person. Jordan proposed at Cocoa Beach in Florida. He got down on one knee and said, “Kayla, I love you more than words can describe and all I can think about is spending the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?” Obviously, the answer was a huge YES!

On November 3, 2023, Kayla and Jordan had the best day ever tying the knot and celebrating with their friends and family. They got married at Ken Caryl Vista by Wedgewood in Littleton, Colorado. They got a beautiful snowy winter wedding filled with so much love and laughter.

One thing I loved about Kayla and Jordan’s wedding was all the thought they put into it. Kayla spent a significant amount of time DIY’ing and creating all the aspects of the wedding. One of her favorite parts was how the arch at their ceremony turned out that a family friend turned out. I love all the draping on the arch and how it really gave a pop of color and stood out. You don’t need a ton of flowers to make your arch look stunning.

I asked Kayla what their favorite part of the wedding day was and they said, “without a doubt seeing each other at the opposite ends of the aisle. The rest of our surroundings seemed to melt away and it felt like it was just us, looking at each other with so many unspoken words of love, excitement, and gratitude.”

I always want my couples to share a funny story from the wedding day. Two of their friends performed the life (a very well executed life at that) from dirty dancing without warning. Make sure to check the pictures below for that moment! This ended up being one of their favorite parts of the night and they will forever be laughing about this moment. Thankfully, someone caught this moment on video for them too!

I asked Kayla to give some advice to those future brides getting married reading this. Here is what she had to say, “Most people say things don’t stress and enjoy the day because it goes by so far. While those are good pieces of advice, I knew there was a strong likelihood I was going to be stressed and anxious on the big day. My advice is to accept that stress and anxiety are probably going to be part of your day and that is okay. Trust in your planning and organizing skills, in your coordination team, and in the people you’ve chosen to be nearest to you on one of the biggest days of your life. Breathe and don’t lose sight of the fact that you’re getting married to your person. As long as that happens, the day is a success.”
